The School of Computer and Information Engineering in Changzhou Institute of Technology was founded in October 2003. It originated from the computer application specialty of Changzhou Institute of Technology, which was founded in 1983.

It currently has four undergraduate majors in computer science and technology, software engineering, communications engineering, and Internet of things engineering. Five teaching units in the central laboratory. It currently has 75 full-time faculty members.There are 5 professors, 23 associate professors and 47 lecturer. It has 23 PhD teachers and the doctorate ratio exceeds 30% of the teaching members.

The School of Computer and Information Engineering in CIT has three municipal scientific research platforms including the Changzhou Key Laboratory of Software Technology Research and Application, the Changzhou Mobile Internet Public Technology Service Platform, the Changzhou Smart Library System Engineering Technology Research Center, the Digital Information Technology Collaborative Innovation Center, Intelligent robotics research institute, intelligent cloud technology research institute, AR / VR and artificial intelligence research institute, IoT engineering application research institute, data science and cloud computing research institute and other university-level scientific research platforms. He has won 1 scientific and technological achievement award from the Ministry of Education, and more than 10 scientific and technological achievement awards from the national industry association.

The School of Computer and Information Engineering actively promotes international exchanges and cooperation. It has cooperated with the Netherlands College of Canada and the University of Prince Edward Island, the University of Herdford in the United Kingdom, the University of Pace, and Troy University in the United States. In 2016, the software engineering program began to recruit overseas students. The software engineering (3 + 1) Sino-foreign cooperation project co-organized with the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom passed the evaluation of the first batch of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs by the Ministry of Education in 2013, and was approved in 2016 as the first batch of high-level demonstration construction of Sino-foreign cooperative education in Jiangsu Engineering project, as of December 2017, 142 students have graduated from the UK, more than 70% of them have obtained a first or second class honours degree, and nearly 80% have been accepted by University College London, St Andrews University, Hong Kong City University And other internationally renowned colleges and universities are accepted as master's degree students.

Since 2010, it has started joint graduate training with East China Normal University and Hehai University. At the same time, actively explore and practice the school-enterprise integration, diversified collaboration talent training model, successively with Texas Instruments (TI), Google Information Technology (China) , RS Company, Oracle (China) System, ZTE and other well-known companies have established more than 50 internal and external internship bases. Among them, they have established the first domestic innovation and entrepreneurship workstation with Oracle (China), and an embedded joint laboratory with Texas Instruments (TI). The University of Hertfordshire has jointly established the International Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Systems.

Since the school was run, it has achieved fruitful results in the talent training. In recent years, it has won 2 second prizes and 3 first prizes of higher education achievements in jiangsu province. Students have won more than 300 awards in various competitions at and above the provincial level. Among them, the 15th Challenge Cup Jiangsu University Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition 2nd prizes, 1 third prize, RoboCup Robot World Cup RoboCup3D simulation group runner-up 5 and 3 runner-ups, 1nd prize and 5 third prizes in the China University Student Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest, and 2 first prizes in the National Finals of the National University Biological Networking Competition (TI ).
